"Multi-modal characterisation of memory networks"

Résumé

Memory function is distributed across networks of brain regions, but we do not know the extent to which damage to part of the network disrupts the rest of the network, or how plasticity occurs to compensate for this degeneration. I will describe my work combining specific neuromodulation and lesion work in non-human primates with magnetic resonance imaging to characterize structural and functional changes to memory networks. I will also discuss ongoing work investigating how plasticity in these networks could lead to effective strategies for diagnosis and treatment for dementia and cognitive decline.
