Résumé

Tumor-associated macrophages, as well as their circulating precursors, are ’sensing’ microenvironmental cues, adapting their phenotype in response to the tumor niche they encounter. Here I will discuss how hypoxia, metabolites, and the interaction with other stromal cells affect the behaviour of monocytes and macrophages and how this influences adaptive immunity and the formation of a vascular and lymphatic bed with
